Kayla Sterner has always been a natural leader and freethinker with an attitude problem in the best way. This has led many to say that she has cult leader energy.

In her early years, Kayla attended spy training where she underwent special espionage, interrogation, and persuasion techniques (yes, this is real). She studied international relations at the University of Denver.

Kayla pivoted to the private sector, applying her skills to business and marketing. She began her career wearing many hats and managing complex real estate deals.

From there, her trajectory was content and brand manager, then manager of multiple business units, to director of marketing.

After spending over a decade in corporate life, Kayla started her own fractional marketing agency, aptly named The Kult Leader, through which she serves as a fractional CMO and Brand Consultant for Retrograde Legal. She not only helps us with our marketing, she helps our clients.

In Kayla’s free time, she loves to dive into new worlds through her books and is very politically active.
